Jeremiah 2:22 (New Living Translation)
No amount of soap or lye can make you clean. I still see the stain of your guilt. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!

Revelation 7:14 (New Living Translation)

And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.

It is Labor Day weekend!  What is your favorite job to do?  Yes, you read that right.  What is your favorite job to do?  My personal favorite job to do has to do with just about anything to do with my car.  To me, there is nothing better than a warm garage, work on a car that needs done, the radio, and a Diet Mt. Dew.  You cannot beat it!

However, there is one problem.  I find that no matter how careful I may be, I always seem to stain a shirt, a pair of pants, and my hands with grease or oil.  Oh yes, I can use the GOOP, Lava Soap and whatever, but my hands never get totally clean.  I have also learned that I must always wear clothes in which I have worked on cars before, because no matter how much scrubbing or the use of chemicals that I put on them, they are stained for life.

Judah also had stain that could not be washed off.  His sin was so set in that even soda and soap could not remove the stain.  God always saw it before Him.  Friends, this is what guilt and sin are to our lives. We can try everything that we can to get it out, but it will always be there.  We can try to cover it up, mask it, and even act like it is not there, but it is.  We try to do good things for other people, and it still remains before God.  With the wages of sin as death, what are we going to do about it?  We cannot get it out!

Well, there is hope!  God has taken care of it for us!  He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, and rose again so that when I believe in Him, my sin and guilt are gone!  We are made as white as snow!  You may be thinking, “Well, how can you take a stain like that with something else that stains like blood?”  With God, the best way to get rid of the stain is to stain it with something stronger!  The blood of Jesus makes our hearts as white as snow, radiant, pure, without stain, holy, and blameless.

Finally, what kind of stain of guilt and sin are you dealing with today?   Maybe you are dealing with premarital sex, thoughts of suicide, lying, jealousy, you name it.  The guilt may be haunting you right as you read this.  Friend, trust Jesus!  He takes any kind of stain and makes it as white as snow!!  May you have a great Labor Day weekend!!
